August 10 - 12, 2023

 

In these three days, we will use Ensemble Thinking and Contact Improvisation to dive into improvised group performance. These techniques provides clear tools and shared vocabulary for observing/participating in improvisations and playing with space, shape, and time. Together, we will experiment with structures, find ways to break the boundaries, and fly into the unknown. Open to all experience levels, dancers, actors, choreographers, improvisers, movers. Andrew Wass, Margaret Paek, and Nina Martin of Lower Left will be facilitating the workshop.

The morning sessions will begin with solo somatically oriented practices into Ensemble Thinking scores. The afternoons will start with CI practices into generating and observing improvised group performances.

 

The payment is a sliding scale of $120-$180, payment in full.

 

If you withdraw from the workshop, we will keep 50$ for administrative costs.
