  Andrew Wass began dancing in college, replacing the chem lab with the dance studio.  Since living in the Bay Area for the past 7 years, he has had the opportunity to perform in work by Scott Wells, Jess Curtis, Nina Martin, Shelley Senter, and Mary Overlie
  His dance films have been presented in film festivals in LA, Minneapolis, Rio de Janeiro, Houston, Berlin, Tokyo and San Francisco.  His sardonic performance work has been presented in San Diego, LA, San Francisco, Marfa, Tijuana, and New York.  He has taught dance at University of Houston, Missouri State University, Purdue University and Mills College, at the Seattle Festival of Dance Improvisation, Movement Research's Fall Festival in New York and the Tokyo Contact Impro Festival.
  In the fall of 2007 he was an artist in residence at Djerassi Resident Artist Program.  He also received the Jack Loftis and Vibeke Strand, MD honorary Fellowship and an Izzy nomination for music/soundscore/text in 2007.  He has been a member of Lower Left since 2002.  In 2007 he and Kelly Dalrymple-Wass founded Non Fiction, a performance group dedicated to removing the artifice from performance.  Influential in his work Keith Johnstone's notion, "Content lies in the structure..."(Impro page 110).  Visit www.andrewwass.com for more information.
